TOOHEY - COOKE At Corpus Christi Church, Nundah, on June 18 the marriage took place of Mr. Micheal James Toohey (son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Toohey, Chillagoe, North Queensland) and Miss Vivien Berrill Cooke (youngest daughter of Mrs. W. A. Cooke, Atthow Parade). The Rev. Father M. Jordan officiated. Miss Kathleen Malloy presided at the organ, and Miss Viva Crowe sang a solo. The bride, who was given away by Mr. W. A. Cooke, wore ivory angel-skin lace and mariette, and carried the Child of Mary cloak. Her veil of embroidered silk tulle fell to form a train, and she carried roses and eucharis lilies. Misses Marie Allen and Isabelle Mitchell (niece of the bridegroom) were bridesmaids. The former wore pink flat crepe with a halo hat, and the latter was in blue. They carried bouquets of pink and cream roses. Mr. J. J. Mulry was best man and Mr. T. Cooke (brother of the bride) was groomsman. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Jenolan Cafe, where Mrs. W. A. Cooke received the guests wearing jubilee blue crepe. The bride's travelling frock was a navy coat and skirt with a hat to match. Later Mr. and Mrs. M. J. Toohey left for their future home, Marian, Mackay.
