  • Notes
    • Joyce was at the Winchester School for Girls as a boarder at the time of her father's death in January 1921. When her mother returned to London in June or so of that year, she took Joyce out of Winchester as finances prohibited having the three boys and Joyce at boarding school (the boys of course stayed in their schools (Rayner at Cheltenham and David and Teddy at Winchester I believe). The proper education was less of a priority for girls in those days. Joyce then went to London and lived with her mother in a maisonetteĀ near Victoria Station. My mother was sent to the Kensington Day School for Girls, a sister school to Winchester, but for day students in London.

Robert and Joyce lived at 149 Stewart St. Amsterdam, NY.
