    Norah Walker (previously Ruddell and nee Hammill) married Jack Walker in 1906. Colin O'Neill is Norah's grandson who was born in 1924 so this photo is likely to have been taken about 1926-1928.

    • Father's name is written as Hamile in the baptism record. Godparents were Simon Quinlan and Alice Bermingham.

      On the 1895 electoral roll, the address is listed as : part of subdiv. 39, por. 41 and 42, Harcourt street

      On the 1905 electoral roll, Norah is still living at Woongarra Street - domestic duties.

      When Norah married Jack Walker, she stated that her age was 39 yet she was really 41. Witnesses to the marriage were George and Jane Ruddell and the Methodist Minister was Bernard Frederick. They were married at the residence of George Ruddell who lived at Sharon.

      In 1913, 1919, 1925 and in 1930 on the electoral rolls, John and Norah Walker are living at No 4 Othello Street, Mackay. John is a labourer and Norah has home duties. Dulcie Thelma is also listed as a waitress in 1930. John is not listed on the 1936 roll at Othello St.

      The Bundaberg Cemetery has stillborn children registered:

      Madge O'Neill (nee Hunter) remembers that her grandparents owned a bakery and Jack Walker would deliver the cakes made by Norah for the bakery. They were in a basket covered by a beautifully starched white cloth. Granny Walker was a wonderful cook.
