- As yet, no definitive baptism or birth record can be found for Annie. The day and month are taken from a family birthday book while the year is based on the age she gave for the birth of each of her children. In the majority of cases, based on the age given, her year of birth equated to 1845, with others being 1846, 1847 or 1848.

PHILLIPS James William, b. 5 May 1846, Paterson, NSW, Australia , d. 13 Oct 1920, Bundaberg, QLD, Australia (Age 74 years) |
Married |
29 Nov 1867 |
Donnybrook, Maranoa, Australia |
- There is some confusion about the marriage of James and Annie as no record exists - either in government records or Catholic Archives. The early birth certificates have the date of marriage as either the 25 November 1867 (Mary Ann Phillips' birth certificate) or the 29th November (birth certificates for the rest of the children, except Margaret where the date is given as the 29 December, 1867). The 29 November 1867 is given as the marriage date.

Notes |
- Came to Australia at the age of 20, as an assisted immigrant on the General Caulfield, landing in Moreton Bay 8th September 1864. If this is correct, then she would have been born in 1844, not 1842. [Immigration Indexes have the date as the 03 September, 1864.) Trove has the date in the Brisbane Courier of 4th September. Ship was 647 tons and had a cargo of government immigrants. When she arrived, she would have been among the group which was taken to Ipswich where they were to be accommodated until they joined their friends already established in the colony or meet with engagements. Many were engaged at the Brisbane depot (Brisbane Courier Friday 9 Sept 1864).
In the 1903 Electoral Roll, she is resident at the Doolbi Hotel in Childers and her occupation is domestic duties as is that of her daughter, Bridget.
