MILITARY and inter-State interest surrounded the informal morning wedding yesterday of Private Charles McWalters, AIF (only son of Mr. and Mrs. C. J. McWalters. Proserpine Suqar Mills, Proserpine) and Miss Lorna Grace Vernon, second daughter of the late Mr. C. W. M. Vernon, Tumut, New South Wales, and of Mrs. Vernon, Shell Harbour, New South Wales. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. R. B. Bates at All Saints' Church, Ann Street. Dr. A. Vernon Henry gave away his cousin, who wore a street-length frock of powder blue jersey, made with a high neckline and swing skirt. Her navy hat was trimmed with powder blue, and she added a shoulder spray of pale pink roses. As bridesmaid, Miss Beryl McWalters (sister of the bridegroom) wore dusky pink wool romaine, with navy blue accessories. Private Tom Bell was best man.
